This catalogue celebrates two felicitous events: the vernissage of a charming exhibition titled “Scenery of the Mind” and the inauguration of WIN Gallery. Their connection extends beyond mere synchronicity in time, with the interplay between thought and expression being a cornerstone of our new platform where art, characters and ideas coalesce.
The exhibition, curated by acclaimed visual artist Marinela Măntescu - Isac, explores the fusion between objective reality, perception and interpretation. Through painting and sculpture, a constellation of reputed artists, of varied style, technique and compositional structure approach the subject from different angles. Through observation and contemplation to deconstruction and reassembling of concepts, they invite the viewer to investigate the ways in which we populate our memory and imagination, analyze and communicate about objects, situations and perpetual questions concerning the inner and outer world.
Departing from this initial collection, WIN Gallery is committed to bring forth art that infuses our lives with beauty and awakens our inquisitiveness and creativity. At times, the experience may be comforting and validate opinions while in other moments it could be challenging preset models. We gladly assume and encourage debate and promise that few things will be rejected with more vehemency than boredom. Frequent events -from social gathering around a glass of refined wine, to book presentations, to musical evenings -will also animate this space, elevating the cultural journey.
Together, we will search for meaning and meanings, as it is this exercise that makes us human and the thread that binds us as humanity.
